Timo Perez Signs With Long Island Ducks

The Long Island Ducks announced today that former New York Met, Timo Perez has signed with the team.

I mentioned earlier last week that Perez was taking batting practice with the team but was unable to work out a working visa. Apparently, Perez has worked out those issues.

Perez was extremely productive for the Tigers Triple-A affiliate Toldeo last season, hitting .304 with 6 home runs, 50 RBI and 15 stolen bases. He'll add a solid bat to the outfield which has suddenly become short handed with the departure of Matt Esquivel who will most likely be out two months with a shoulder/hand injury.

Perez is a great addition for the Ducks not only on the field as a player, but to sell the tickets. The fan favorite in Queens should help sell a few more tickets.
