Atlantic League Alum, Lloyd Turner Is Hitting Coach For Vermont Lake Monsters

Earlier this year Lloyd Turner was named the hitting coach for the Vermont Lake Monsters, the short season Class-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics.

Turner played six seasons in the Oakland Athletics organization after being drafted by the Athletics in the 16th round (288th overall) of the 2002 MLB Draft out of Kennesaw State University. He hit .257 with 29 home runs and 205 RBI during his tme in the A's organization.

In 2008, he joined the Lancaster Barnstormers of the independent Atlantic League where he played from 2008 to 2010.

Turner played the final two seasons of his career with the Camden Riversharks of the Atlantic League in 2011 and 2012.  He finished his Atlantic League carer with a .272 batting average, 37 home runs and 242 RBI.
