Ducks Sign Former Big League Pitcher Erick Threets, Release Connor Graham

The Long Island Ducks announced on Wednesday that they have signed former major league pitcher Erick Threets.

The left-hander, pitched in 21 major league games from 2007-2010 for the San Fransisco Giants and Chicago White Sox. He posted a 0-1 record with a 3.37 ERA during his big league career.

Last season he played for the Angels Triple-A affiliate, Albuquerque and the A's Triple-A affiliate, Sacramento. He finished the 2012 season with a 6-4 record, 2.79 ERA, and four saves.

In another move the the Ducks also released pitcher Connor Graham.

The Ducks pitching has been up and down all season, so I wasn't too shocked that they brought in more pitching. I was pretty shocked to see them release Connor Graham who was one of the nicest guys on the team and did whatever the team asked of him from being a starter to working out of the bullpen. I felt their were other guys on the roster who should have been released before Graham, but I obviously don't make those decisions.
