Former Duck Gorecki Signs With Skeeters

Sources have confirmed that former Long Island Duck Reid Gorecki has signed with the Sugar Land Skeeters.

Reid Gorecki was a 13th round (402nd overall) selection by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2002 MLB Amateur Draft out of the University of Delaware. He played in the Cardinals organization for five years prior to joining the Atlanta Braves organization in 2008. On August 17, 2009, he made is major league debut for the Atlanta Braves.  Gorecki had a .200 batting average with 3 RBI in 25 at-bats for the Braves that season. In 2010, he split time between Scranton-Wilkes Barre, and Trenton in the New York Yankees organization.

After taking a year off from baseball in 2011, Gorecki returned to the field with the Long Island Ducks in 2012. He hit .281 with 10 home runs, 41 RBI, and 21 stolen bases in 85 games for the Ducks before being traded to the Camden Riversharks on August 28th.
