Dontrelle Willis Signed By Angels

The Long Island Ducks announced today that Dontrelle Willis has been signed by the Los Angeles Angels of Anahiem and will report to their Triple-A Affiliate Salt Lake.

Willis posted a 5-4 record with a league leading 2.57 ERA in 87.2 innings for the Ducks this season. He was the starting pitcher for the Liberty Division in the Atlantic League All-Star Game.

I can't believe it took this long for Willis to get signed. I watched him pitch four times this season and every time he got better. His fastball looked like it had more life on it, and he was in more control of the game each time.

I did hear from various bloggers that he was becoming frustrated in the Atlantic League towards the end of his stint. Dontrelle was a fun guy to have around this season and hopefully he can get back to the majors.
