ValleyCats & Renegades Square Off In NY-Penn League Championship

The Tri-City ValleyCats and Hudson Valley Renegades will square off in the NY-Penn League Championship series starting this weekend. 

The ValleyCats finished the regular season with a 42-33 record, winning the Stedler Division title. They  dispatched of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the semi-finals, winning the first two games in their best-of-three games series to advance. Tri-City is seeking their first NY-Penn League title since 2013.

The Renegades won the McNamara Division and finished with the best overall record in the NY-Penn League at 45-30. They advanced to the finals after defeating the Auburn Doubledays in the first two games of their three game series.  Hudson Valley is looking to make it back-to-back championships having won the 2017 championship over the Vermont Lake Monsters. 

The ValleyCats will host game one of the championship series on Saturday night at 7pm. Then the series will shift down I-87 to Wappingers Falls for games two and three.
