Union (4-0-1) has looked dominant, firing on all cylinders so far with a balance offense attack, a suffocating defense, and a two-headed monster in goal.

The Dutchmen senior leadership has led the way early in the season. The top four scorers for Union are all seniors, including captain Cole Maier, who leads the team with 8 points (4 goals, 4 assists) in 5 games.

The Dutchmen have arguably one of the best goalie tandems in the ECAC in senior Jake Kupsky and sophomore Darion Hanson. Kupsky who started the first three games has a 2-0-1 record with a 2.60 GAA and .902 save percentage on the season, while Hanson has a 2-0-0 record with a 1.99 GAA and .944 save percentage.

Last weekend, they swept then #12 Northeastern and moved to #11 in the USCHO.com national poll.

RPI (0-3-0) has struggled early in the season with a very young team. The Engineers were swept by UMass the first weekend of the season and then lost UConn last weekend in Troy.

RPI has only only managed to score three goals on the season (two goals by Jakob Lacka and one by Will Reilly).

Sophomore goalie Linden Marshall has had a rocky start in net for the Engineers this season. So far he's posted a 3.81 GAA with a .890 save percentage.

Key to the game:

Both RPI and Union are terrible on the power play kill this season. RPI ranks #49 out of 54 teams in the nation in the power play kill allowing opposing teams to score 30.77% of the time the have the man advantage. Union has been worse at #51, allowing teams to score on the power play 34.62% of the team. They've allowed 9 power play goals in 5 games this season. Both teams will need to play smart and disciplined. A man advantage or a man down could loom large in this two-game set.
