ECHL Hockey: Brampton Spoils Thunder Home Opener on Saturday 3-2

The Brampton Beast defeated the Adirondack Thunder 3-2 in the Thunder's home opener on Saturday  in Glens Falls, NY.

The Beast got the scoring started when David Pacan snapped a wrist shot past Thunder goalie Alex Sakellaropoulos to make the score 1-0 at 16:33 of the first period.

Brampton extended their two minutes later when Jordan Henry slammed home a power-play goal on a feed from David Pacan to put the Beast up 2-0.

The Thunder got their first home goal of the season when former captain Peter MacArthur came down center ice, made a move around Beast defensemen Chase Golightly and then deeked out Brampton goalie Jake Paterson to move the Thunder within one at 2-1.

The Beast extended their lead to 3-1 on a power-play goal by Jackson Leef at 3:40 of the third period.

Adriondack cut the Brampton lead to 3-2 when Desmond Bergin snapped home a shot from the left face off circle at 4:54 of the third period.

The Thunder had a chance to tie the game in the closing moments when the had a two-man advantage after they pulled their goalie and Jonathon Racine was called for a interference penalty. The Thunder were unable to convert and the Brampton escaped Glens Falls with a 3-2 win.

David Pacan finished the night with a goal and an assist for the Beast while David Vallorani chipped in with two assists. Brampton goalie Jacob Paterson had 33 saves in net.

Former Union goalie, Alex Sakellaropoulos stop 18 shots in goal for the Thunder.
