30 College Hockey Preview RPI & Union Host North Country Rivals Clarkson & St. Lawrence This Weekend

RPI and Union will host North Country rivals Clarkson and St. Lawrence this weekend.

RPI (2-3-0) is coming off a weekend sweep of then #11 Union (4-2-1). The two wins were the first wins of the season for the Engineers and dropped Union to #17 in the national rankings.  Linden Marshall posted a  2-0 record with a 2.50 GAA and .931 save percentage over the weekend and was named ECAC Goaltender of the Week.

The Visitors: 

Clarkson (3-2-0) has won its last three games after dropping its first two games of the season to Penn State. Clarkson goalie Jake Kielly has been sensational in net for the Golden Knights over that span, posting a 3-0 record with a 1.33 GAA and .942 save percentage. Josh Dunne and Grant Cooper are tied for the team lead in goals while Haralds Egle (two goals, four assists) and Nico Strum (one goal, five assists) are tied for the team lead in points. Clarkson has been solid on the power play converting on 22.22% of the chances.

St. Lawerence (1-5) is off to a rocky start losing five of its first six gamesy. The haven't received production from their offense, which has scored one goal or less in five of their six games. Last weekend, they were swept in Ann Arbor by Michigan and outscored 6-1 in the series. Arthur Brey has been solid in net for the Saints with a 3.51 GAA and .901 save percentage but is facing more than 34 shots per game.
