30 Second College Hockey Preview: Air Force @ Army West Point, 11/2/18-11/3/18

by Corey Mansfield, BBM Managing Editor

Army West Point will seek redemption this weekend against Air Force. The Falcons have eliminated the Black Knights from the Atlantic Hockey Tournament that last two years.

Army (4-2-1) has been solid in their last five games posting a 4-0-1 record and 3-0 in Atlantic Hockey action. The Army offensive has awaken after early season struggles and is averaging 3.60 goals per game over that span.

Last weekend, Army swept Atlantic Hockey foe Mercyhurst with a 5-1 win Friday night, and then a 3-2 victory on Michael's Wilson heroics Saturday night.

Zach Evancho leads the Army offense with four goals on the season while defensemen Alex Wilkinson and Dalton MacAfee lead the team with seven points each (two goals, five assists for both).

Trevin Koslowski has been a surprise in net for Army. The sophomore netminder has a 4-0-1 record and a 1.85 GAA and .928 save percentage this season.

Air Force (2-4-0) has been inconsistent to start off the season. The Falcons have not won back-to-back games yet this season and are averaging an anemic 2.16 goals per game. In the first six games, the Falcons have only scored more than 2 goals on one occasion.

Evan Feno leads Air Force with five points (three goals, two assists) and is tied Kieran Dugan for the team lead in goals with three. Billy Christopoulos has seen the majority of time in net for Air Force, posting 3.31 GAA and .879 save percentage.

Deciding Factors:

Alex Wilkinson and Dalton MacAfee are arguably two of the best defensemen in the AHA, not only on defense but also their ability to be catalysts offensively. Look for both to have huge games this weekend.
